Girls Hockey Camp - Parksville - July 30 - August 2

Carly Haggard is once again very excited to announce the Girls Hockey Camp taking place in Parksville, July 30-August 2.

Carly played her minor hockey years in Port Alberni, BC, making the jump to senior women’s AAA hockey at the age of 16, where she attended two Canadian national championships.

Haggard attended Dartmouth College, where she graduated with a major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. She was a standout player, winning many awards, including, a two time finalist for the prestigious Patty Kazmaeir Award, given to the top player in US College hockey, Rookie of the Year, Ivy league and ECAC Player of the Year and named to the All American Team. During her college career, she was a two sport athlete, playing both hockey and softball. In 2002, Haggard was named the Dartmouth Female Athlete of the Year. Haggard also played for the Canadian Under 22 National Team for three years, where she competed in several international challenges.

After graduation, Carly continued her hockey career and played for the Oakville Ice in the National Women’s Hockey League. During her playing time, she was also an assistant coach for the Oakville Junior Hockey Team.

Carly started the PASS Female Hockey School in BC, where she began to hone her coaching skills. She trained and mentored girls of all ages and levels in their hockey careers. Many of these young players went on to play college hockey.

Combining her two passions for travel and hockey, Carly played professional hockey in HC Lugano, Switzerland, where she was named the league’s MVP both seasons. Carly led her team to two league championships and two appearances at the European Cup championships.

After retiring, Carly began her coaching career. Haggard did two seasons as an assistant coach with the University of Guelph Gryphon’s women’s hockey team. Carly took over as the interim head coach for the 2011-12 season, where they had the best record in school history with 18 wins. She now is the head coach for the Shawnigan Lake School female prep team that competes in the CSSHL, one of the top leagues for midget age players in Western Canada.
